11:04am Good new story from yesterdays bike section.

Bike 72 Leslie Barrett stopped on the track yesterday with a flat tyre. Luke Clay (49) was broken down close by and gave his front tyre to Leslie so he could finish the event.

10:57am Update from race command that we are looking for an 11:30 start from Rocky Pool which will put the first cars at the Canarvon Race Course finish line just after midday.

10:56am Ross Clark (97) and John Zadow (28) did not start today.

Darren Waters (280) started today after not finishing yesterday.

10:53am Just had confirmation from the start line that the start went well with the cars, bikes and quads left on time.

Mark Murray and Lee Coupe (866) did not start todays section, unsure why as they finished yesterdays section.

Russell Cullen and Scott Mulcaster (883) did not start today after suffering from overheating in the repowered Nissan Patrol and the new V8 petrol engine.

Frank and Justin Galea (806) did not start today. They got bogged in the river yesterday but we don't know why they couldn't start today.

Kirk Larsen and Peter Don (80) did not start today after their transmission issues yesterday.

Clifford Hills and Adam Matthews (851) did not start.

10:30am Two Robinson vehicles have arrived at check point 1. We are unsure as to which two.

10:26am Max Pilmer and Rex West (73) have retired from the event at check point 1 with a broken tail shaft.

Brad Cooper and Peter Reeves (968) had a flat battery just after check point 1. They have fixed the problem and restarted.

9:48am Good morning and welcome to day 2 of the Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash. We are set up at the Canarvon end of todays events at the Canarvon Race Track. Horse races that is.

We will be offering full services today. Rusty will be broadcasting live sometime around 11am. Rusty is on the road at the moment returning from Gascoyne which is about a 2 hour trip.

We will try and keep you up to date with the typed commentary as we receive information over the radios.

The cars were due to start today at 7am and the bikes at 9.30 followed at 10:15 by the quads. We are yet to receive confirmation that they started on time.

Information will be relayed to us from the Rocky Pool check point where competitors get a compulsory stop.

Bike 13 Warren Strange appealed his disqualification from the event for failure to obey a red flag. The result was a revised penalty of 10 minutes on his total time. This will not affect his start time for today so he will go off in position 2 on the first line of the grid.

The finish arena at the Canarvon Race Track should make for great spectator viewing. The Race Track has full facilities with grandstands, food, bar and offices for the officials.

We are sitting on the second floor of the grandstand overlooking the horse race course. The race track for todays vehicles does a few winds and turns or zig zags on the infield of the race course with a finish jump right infront of the spectators.

If all has gone to schedule at the start line, all the bikes should now be away with a half hour break until the quads start.

After the quads have gone we will receive confirmation via satellite phone of who started and when.

Stay tuned and we'll provide more updates when we receive information.

No More Entries... (67 total, now viewing 61 - 67)
