3:08pm Thankyou for tuning in today with the typed commentary. We will be back tomorrow morning with the results and with Rusty and his live commentary. We'll be back online about 10.15 when the first cars come into the arena in Carnarvon.

2:51pm 103 is finished. The bikes are over and race day 1 has finished.

2:49pm 88 has now finished and will be credited with time for stopping with an injured rider.
45 just pushed his bike over the line from the river about a kilometre away because his engine seized.
94 has also finished so we now only have 1 car to go.
2:40pm We have 4 left to finish.

2:31pm 108 home. 19 DNF so it's about 6 to finish now.
2:26pm I have Rusty sitting next to me now. He's telling me this is some of the knarliest riding he's seen in a while.

2:22pm We have 12 to finish now, with 116 finishing just then.
Ron Harrison finished with a time 3:30:28.

2:18pm Its official 100 bikes have finished. We have a few DNF's but we still have a few till we are finished.

bikes 62, 57, 43, 53 and 114 are also finished.

2:11pm 92 out of 128 finishes. Around 11 DNF's

more finishes: 37, 23, 100 and 38.

2:08pm bikes 118, 157 and 120 are now finished.

2:07pm Bikes 102, 61 and 71 have finished.

The weather is heating up here at Coonatha, Bidgemia Station and we expect the tempurature has reached the forecast at 38 degrees.
2:02pm Numerous bikes have come throught with the latest being
80, 117, 74, 463, 107, 70, 113, 333, 26, 51 and 108

2:00pm 123 Kevin Withnell siezed his engine 500metres from the finish. He pushed it out of the way.

1:53pm it has been reported that 124 have gone through pells checkpoint.

1:49pm Recovery has reported the following bikes around the track.
48, 921, 16 and 66.

Bike 90 has been reported to have stopped about 10km away from finish as he has run out of fuel.

Bike 24 has just finished and will be given a 15 minute time credit for stopping to assist an injured rider.

1:43pm A few more bikes home now. Update on times see results page.

1:34pm The line has been dusted out again, bikes are still swarming home.

52 bikes are home.

1:31pm 5 bikes at once.
124, 91, 39, 192 and 30.

1:26pm Logan Trigg, Local boy just moved up 21 places from his start position. He finished with a flat rear wheel.

922 Rodney Bellotti, another local boy, finished 7 places higher than his start position.
1:20pm Bike 89 finished with a time of 2:35:43 and bike 22 finished with a 2:37:35.
Bike 17 crossed the finish line with a time of 2:39:58.

1:14pm The bike numbers that are coming in are:
9, 92, 18,
322 has just pushed his bike the last 100 metres to the finish line having run out of fuel.

1:09pm We have had about 10 bikes in at once.

We have had 1 quad back. He dusted in the finish line. To get the results please check online.

1:05pm Update on Chris Thomas, he had a crash and an arguement with a tree and has torn the right arm of his suit but he is okay.

Paul Brown has reported that he rode around 40km on his flat rear tyre.

1:01pm Chris Thomas from Moree in NSW has crossed the line 9th on the road. A great effort for his first Gascoyne Dash.

1:00pm Gavin Cullen 10 has crossed the line 8th on the road.

12:58pm 851 Clifford Hills and Matt Adams finished his lap but had run out of time. This is because he had stopped in the river. The maximum time limit is 5 hours and Clifford finished in 5 hours and 15 minutes.

Bike number 2, rider Paul Brown finished his lap in 2:13:50. He finished with a flat rear tyre.

Bike 104, rider Warren Kempton and bike 15 , Adam clay have finished.

12:50pm 737 Stephen Mitchell finished with a time of 2:15:11. Stephen blitzed the race today. Hammering it through the finish line. He finished in 2 minutes after Ivan Erceg.

12:46pm The first bike is finished.
85 Mr Todd Smith finished first with a time of 2:11:17.
Followed by Vern Strange with with a time of 2:13:20.

Ivan Erceg finished with a time of 2:13:50.
12:34pm We should be thankful for all the photographers and volunteers we have out here at the Gascoyne Dash. The sun is burning and they would feel really uncomfortable.

All the cars are finished now. The bikes are about 5 minutes away from finish.

12:09pm bike 737 Stephen Mitchell has been reported to have gone through the Pells checkpoint. He would be about 54km from the finish.

12:05pm We have onother car into the finish.
770 Shane Bryan and Rick Klix in the Suzuki Sierra. Running a time of 4:32:47.

12:03pm 752 Scott and Jonathan Overstone are stopped around 10 or 15km from the finish line. They have reported to be out.

The first bikes are coming into pells.

11:55am We have 5 bikes out.

464 William Wilson is out, stopping at the 15km mark.
40 Callam Rankin stopped at the 12 km mark.
49 Sean Williamson stopped at the 20km mark.
87 Geoffrey Myers stopped at the 22km mark.

David Lawn 110 has sustained a leg injury and has been attended to by the very efficient medical staff. He is reported to be okay.

11:41am Vern Strange, Todd Smith and Ivan Erceg have been reported to have gone through the Junction checkpoint. They are about half way around the track.

11:30am 736 Ted Schultz and Rick Andreoli have just finished in their new jeep cherokee, the first outing for the new car. The crew stopped 5 times with overheating problems. They waited till the car cooled then refilled the water. The crew are very happy that they finished.

751 Tony and Tyson Overstone have also just finished.
11:25am One of the regular AORC competitors was heard to say in impound that this event is rougher and tougher than any of the AORC rounds this year. He also said that it would be an eye opener to most of them.

11:24am We are now waiting on 7 cars to complete the rough and tough Kickstaters Gascoyne Dash.
11:23am 767 Leaca Smith and 781 Greg Bardon have just completed the 187 loop of the Gas Dash.

737 Tara Mason with Tarry Leighton doing the navigating have also just crossed the line.

11:08am Another car home, Wayne Reece and Bob Smith in the Toyota Prado have lasted the 178km to bring the car home.

There are still 10 cars still to finish.

11:04am Harley O'Brien finished with a time of 3:28:07. After having to stop to fix a gearbox, that is a good effort.

10:58am Harley O'Brien has fixed his gearbox and is now going again.

10:55am With help from another competito, Justin Radcliffe is up and going.

With all these bikes leaving, 2 more cars have finished.
David Don in his Idlewild finished with 3:24:39 and Darryl Hardman and navigator Graham finished their race with a time of 2:37:35, only 3 seconds slower than David Don.

10:48am Justin Radcliffe has stopped at the starting line. He's kicking away trying to start up the bike.

10:38am We are now going 4 at a time. Can u imagine the minia thats going on down here at Coonatha.

10:33am Mania is happening with bikes leaving and cars finishing.

The first 10 bikes have left now and we are now leaving two at a time.

10:27am 5 minutes to the bikes start.

Niaz Ali and Kim Epton just dusted the finish line in their Toyota Hilux with a time of 3:06:26.

10:20am It's 15 mintues to all mayhem starts at Cooratha

Brett Young just stormed the finish with a time of 3:00:53. 2nd car home for the nissan patrol.

10:15am Peter Barrett in the Jeep hav limped home to the pits with no 1st gear. They are out the race for the weekend.

Harley O'Brien has been reported with a broken gearbox.

The first production 4wd home is Matthew Hall and Jason Isaac in the Nissan Patrol. He came home in a time of 2:52:02. 11th car home for West Australian driver.

10:09am Garry Povah just finished with a time of 2:51:15. He is the 9th car home and he is also 2nd in extreme 4wd.

Frank Galea coming home 3 minutes after Garry with a time of 2:56:56. He is the third extreme 4WD to come home.

10:03am The 8th car to finish is Mark Murray and Daniel Smith in their Nissan Patrol. They finished with a time of 2:46:50. An outstanding effort for the first extreme 4WD to cross the line.

9:58am Brad Mudge amd Cameron Smith got a flat rear tyre 5km into the race. the crew drove cautiously for the rest of the race so they didnt get another flat.

Bernie Gwynne is happy to have finished after such a challenging race. He is pleased all the panels are still on. A comment he has made is that going through the trees it is tight and that the river is really rough.

9:43am The only extreme 2WD entry, the Gwynne boys from South Australia have just finished in a cloud of dust. He stormed home in a time of 2:32:46.

9:38am Peter Barrett and Evan Beckerleg have been reported on the recorvery radio as limping home to Coonatha on the access roads. He is out of todays race.

9:35am Brad Mudge and Cameron Smith in the razor back buggy has just finished in a time on 2:29:33. The 6th car to cross the line in saturday's Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash.

9:28am The brand new bat buggy of Brad Cooper and Mal Yeardley has just finished with 2 minutes behind the sister car. Cooper stopped at about 100km's with electical problems, the navigator got out, jiggled a few wires, reset the computer and raced the bat buggy home.

9:24am Brandon Harcus is in 4th with a time of 2:16:47. A tremendous effort for the South African owner of Bat race cars.

9:21am Brian Robinson is in Parc Ferme and the left rear tyre is slowly deflating so he is lucky to have completed the distance.

Wally Francombe and Robert Hawker have just finished, lossing fuel pressure about 10km out and backed of to bring the Jimco home. he finished with a time of 2:16:16.
