Sorry we have been dealing with a few difficulties with the connection.
The bikes that have finished recently are 96, 33, 192, 747, 81, 105, 89, 84, 39, 82, 16, 42, 22, 17, 229, 68, 28, 30, 72, 462, 60, 27, 97, 463, 32 and 454.
The jump at the finish makes for an magnificent finish.

With a close chase in the arena 758 came over the line finishing with a time of 3:20:19 and 121 close behind finishing with an outstanding jump and a time of 3:19:04.

257 Chris "Wicked Fun" Thomas from Mooree riding for Sandy McGinn and Trailrider magazine finished 4th today with a time of 3:15:16. A great effort for the New South Wales man.

737 Stephen Mitchell is second across the line. Giving the crowd an awsome show with a massive finish jump and a few wheelies.
Stephen was saying that he passed 3 Ivan Erceg who had stopped on the side of the track with a hot bike. Ivan has slowed down to make sure he gets to the finish.
There is more bikes in the inside arena but not sure who yet as we have bad visual.

Todd Smith is the first across the line for the bikes. Beating Travis Robinson by 4 minutes.

Update on 737 is that the girls have stopped at Rocky Pool with reasons unknown.

It is confirmed that the bike that crossed the highway in bike 85 with rider Todd Smith.

The first bike just crossed the highway so he would be about 7km away.

725 and 851 are fighting it out in the inside arena.The red 851 is in front and stormed across the line closely follwed by 725.
The last car on the track is the team of Tara Mason and Taryn Leighton in 737.

The second Overstone suzuki has just finished.
Bikes 118 Jamie Rayien, 25 Cornel Scheibling and 124 Ben Shuttleworth are all dnf's.

We have 106 bikes through Winnemia checkpoint.
Bike 1, Vern Strange, last years Gash Dash bike winner was last seen in Fishy Pond, bike and rider. He is okay.

We have just talked to Brad Cooper out of car 68 and the problem was that the battery went flat 4km from the finish due to alternator failure. The crew have walked the 4kms into Carnarvon, got a battery jump pack and walked the 4kms back to the stricken "batmobile", connected the battery pack and driven the 4km to the finish line.
Brad Cooper said the walk was necessary to avoid a dnf.

Update on 68 Brad Cooper is that he is about to cross the line after being stopped for about 2 hours with electrical problems.

We have another car inside the arena. 223 Harley O'Brien and Mick Burnett have finished the 2009 Dash. Followed by 781 Greg Barndon and Gary Waldock in the blue suzuki.
883 Ranall Kilner from Dirtcomp magazine driving the Russell Cullen "sootchucker" nissan patrol is reported to have stopped at Rocky Pool and out of the dash.

1st bike is into Rocky Pool checkpoint and due to restart at 12.53 after a 30 minute compulsary service break.

725 Wain Reece was originally reported out in Doorawarrah checkpoint but has scrounged a radiator and fixed the car and continue racing
Mark Murray has struggled since the end of the river with no power steering. Mark's arm looks abit like popeye's does after he eats his spinach.

Two more car finishes.
Frank Galea and Lee Coupe dusting out the track for his follower Niaz Ali and Kim Epton. Kim just got out the car with a big stretch after bouncing around in a car for about 4 hours.
Niaz and crew just jumped on the back of car for a team photo with officials. They all seem happy with the finish for another Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash.

Just told that the first bike went through Doorawarrah checkpoint. Bike 85 with rider Todd Smith in the lead.

Reports say that 18 cars have left Rocky Pool checkpoint and that the whole bike field have reached loches knob.
The bikes are due to start reaching the finish line at about 2.15.
799 Jasan Hall and Matthew Issac just finished. Flying over the finishing jump. What an oustanding performance.

We have a car on the horison. It's Brett Young and Ian Bain. First 4wd into the finish. Follwed by 234 Rod Barton and Jeremy Lia.

770 Shane Bryan and Rick Klix are reported out of the event. It is told that they have stopped between Winnemia and Doorawarrah.
725 Wayne Reece and Bob Smith are also reported to have stopped between the same checkpoints.

The first bike is reported to have reached Winnemia checkpoint.
Update on cars is that 76 David Don is reported to have pulled out. He stopped at Doorawarrah checkpoint.
Update on 68 Brad Cooper is that he is suffering from electrical problems. They are out of the car and are trying to get it sorted out. Brad was having trouble yesterday with the same issue.

Update on the bikes is that they started on time at 10.30 and the lead bikes are due through the first checkpoint at any moment.

The next group of the field due are production and extreme 4WD's who should have made easy going of the river bed.
There is no dust oon the horison so we await the arrival of the next few cars.

Confirmation that Bernie Gwynne and chris Montimer are about to finish the 2nd day of Kickstarters Gascoyne Dash. They are flying through the infield throwing the extreme 2WD pro truck into the corners and over the jumps to the amazement of the spectators. Magnificant effort for the South Australian team at the debut of this event.

Buggy 68 of Brad Cooper and Mal Yeardley have spotted by the chopper 10km from the finish line stopped on the side of the track.
There is more dust on the horison. Next car due is the South Australian entry of Bernie Gwynne but we do not have visual and will confirm shortly.

Brad Cooper's Brand new buggy was due to cross the finish line before Bradley Mudge and must suffered some dramas somewhere on the track. We have no reports to what is wrong as of yet.

Wally Francombe and Rob Hawker had electrical problems on their run today. Having to switch the battery isolater switch on and off every kilometre.

Spectacters have come out to the Horse Race Track from Carnarvon where veiwing of the last few kilometres of the track is spectacular. The track weaves and winds through the infield of the horse race track finishing with a big jump right in front the spectator lawn area.

The international driver of Brandon Harcus is the Brad Cooper owned Pinjarra Engineering Bat Buggy has finished his first attempt in the Gash Dash. A great effort and well wortht trip for the South African.

One of the Pinjarra Engineering Bat Buggies is closing in on the finish line unable to tell which one at this stage as they are both painted a spectacular bright orange.

Travis and Brian Robinson jostled for the lead in the riverbed changing positions 3 or 4 times. When clear of the river Travis extended the lead to first across the line.

Travis Robinson has taken family honours in the Kickstarters Gash Dash by beating father Brian across the line on day 2 by 30 seconds. This is put a end to Brians Domination to the Gash Dash having won it the last three years.

There are two dust trails on the horizon. Fighting with each other to be the first to cross the line in the 2009 Gascoyne Dash.

The first car is reported to have crossed the North West Highway. The major road going north of Carnarvon.

The first car is through Square Tank Checkpoint
The local Radio station, Hot Hits 99.7 are broadcasting out of there giant stereo shaped studio which is parked on the front lawns of the race track. Rusty and Jody are doing live crossovers to the radio as well as broadcasting here on the internet.

Travis Robinson was the first car out of Rocky Pool at 9.15, he is expected to reach the finish at about approx. 10.15.
We are currently waiting for more news. We will post it as it comes.

The leading cars are currently at Rocky Pool Checkpoint. They will have a 30 minute stop to refuel or work on the car.
The only extreme 2WD in the event finished 7th yesterday running an awsome time of 2:32:46.
968 Brandan Harcus, the South African owner and builder of Bat Racing Cars finished running a time of 2:16:47.
